SAN DIEGO, CA – November 7, 2024 – Genasys Inc. (NASDAQ: GNSS), the global leader in Protective Communications, today announced a four-year contract with Los Angeles County (LA County) for Genasys ALERT (ALERT) mass notification software services. LA County’s successful use of Genasys EVAC (EVAC) emergency evacuation management services since 2022 led to the County’s decision to replace its previous mass notification provider with ALERT to enhance public safety for the county’s 9.8 million residents and 50 million annual visitors during wildfires and other disasters.
“ALERT and EVAC will unify and enhance LA County’s emergency response planning, mass notification, and evacuation management,” said Richard Danforth, Genasys Chief Executive Officer. “Adding ALERT to the existing deployment and use of EVAC across the county’s 4,000 square miles and 88 incorporated cities has the potential to not only streamline disaster response and communication, but more importantly, save lives.”
Michael Smith, Senior Vice President of Genasys Protect said, “ALERT redefines mass communication to keep people aware, informed, and safe in emergencies. With ALERT and EVAC, Los Angeles County, the most populous county in the United States, will have real-time and modeled planning and data, intelligent evacuation zones, multi-channel alerts, automated alerts, and targeted safety notifications. Importantly, as key elements of the Genasys Protect platform, ALERT and EVAC will empower residents and visitors with real-time information and situational awareness during critical events.”
ALERT helps keep people safe with geo-targeted emergency warnings and multi-channel, multi-language mass notification. ALERT channels include mobile push, IPAWS, text messaging, emails, voice calls, social networks, XML feeds, CAP, indoor/outdoor speaker systems, and the Genasys Protect Citizen app.
The Genasys Protect platform accelerates and optimizes emergency planning, evacuation management, and disaster response to better protect residents, visitors, and first responders. Genasys Protect saves lives by accelerating decision-making and reducing response times during all hazards and crisis situations.
